The elephant featured in the video used to be the property of Germany's Universal Circus Renz, and passed away while bathing in a river in Estonia.
Its name was Madi, and it was 48 years old when it died.
According to Daily Mail, the man shown jumping up and down on its body is the circus owner's brother. His name is Rene Renz.
Despite being fully aware of the fact that the elephant was in distress, the man decided to start monkeying around, probably because he wanted to entertain the people standing on the river's bank.
Both he and his brother are now facing animal cruelty charges. Here's hoping authorities will not let them off the hook all that easily.
