Not long after she was born, a female gorilla named Gladys was rejected by her biological mother. Such incidents are known to happen, especially among animals living in captivity.

Luckily for Gladys, it only took a few weeks for her to be welcome into a new family. Thus, the baby gorilla managed to win the heart of 30-year-old M'Linzi.

The two are now living together at the Cincinnati Zoo. Zoo staff says that they treat each other as if they were the best of friends.

Apparently, M'Linzi lets the baby gorilla eat some of her food every time Gladys feels like it, and comforts her whenever circumstances demand it.

Check out the video above to see just how well they get along with each other.

Employees at the Cincinnati Zoo have no doubts that, with M'Linzi's help, Gladys will learn everything she needs to know about life as an ape.
