The development team at inXile is announcing that all those who have backed their upcoming Wasteland 2 during the crowdsourcing process and who will get a final copy of the title are now able to get into the beta of the title and test out its core features.

All those who are eligible should log into their accounts at the official Ranger Center and then use the Steam key that they find there, in the Donations tab, although some codes might take more time to show up than others.

The team adds, “As this Steam key also gives access to the final retail version of the game it will count as a ‘digital copy’ used from your tier rewards. If you're due only one digital copy from your backer tier and claim this key on your account, that will be the only key you'll get from us, you won't be able to later switch to GOG.com or other digital retailers.”

The beta for Wasteland 2 includes the Arizona-based content of the game, which is about 25 hours of gameplay and story.

The development team is also giving fans a first look at the physical goods associated with the game, which will be delivered to backers based on how much money they contributed to the project.

They include worn cloth game map, the Wasteland 2 faction badge, medals for the Desert Rangers from rank 1 to 5, Vargas miniature, a commemorative coin and the official Doomsday Preparation Survival Kit.

InXile also says that the official Stackpole & Long two part Wasteland 2 novella is at the moment offered for all fans of the title who have backed at the appropriate Kickstarter tier.

The game is at the moment also part of the Steam Summer Sale for the entirety of its Early Access run.

Brian Fargo, the leader of the studio, says, “The Early Access process has been a blessing for us, giving us the time and feedback to make the game bigger and better than it would otherwise have been. Putting it on sale and adding more extras is our way to both increase the value of the Early Access/Digital Deluxe edition and invite more people to join us.”

Wasteland 2 will be launched worldwide at the end of August of this year and it is designed to offer a classic role-playing experience in a post-apocalyptic setting, focused on complex party mechanics and on tactical turn-based combat.
