Several games based on Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe have been released in the few years, which is a clear indication that the British company is more open to the gaming industry than other companies owning such franchises like Wizards of the Coast, for example, are.

One of the games based on Warhammer franchises that made it to iOS devices about two years ago is called Warhammer Quest and has been developed by Rodeo Games.

The mobile game was very popular among Warhammer fans, though not everyone was happy that besides the price you had to pay to purchase it, the games also features micro-transactions that many felt they were priced too high.

As we have already published our Warhammer Quest for iOS review a few years ago, you can check it out for more in-depth details on the game’s mechanics.

The PC version of Warhammer Quest has been developed by the same folks at Rodeo Games and it’s been recently published on Steam by Chilled Mouse.

Players can choose between standard and deluxe versions

The game supports Windows, Mac and Linux platforms and can be purchased via digital distribution service Steam for €13.49. The suggested retail price is €14.99, but there’s a promotion running until January 14, so players can get it 10% cheaper.

There’s also a Warhammer Quest Deluxe version available on Steam, which is on sale with a 10% discount as well, which means you’ll only have to pay €25.19 instead of €27.99.

The standard edition of the game contains 4 heroes, 3 game areas and a special Vampires & Zombies tileset and enemy pack. The Deluxe Edition comes with an additional 7 heroes, 5 extra weapons and a Skeletons & Necromancers enemy pack.

Warhammer Quest is a turn-based game that mixes RPG and strategy elements. From our experience with the iOS version, we can say that this is a pretty faithful recreation of the classic tabletop game.

It remains to be seen if the PC version comes with anything new in terms of UI and visuals. Stay tuned for our full review later this week.
