Matrix Games and SSG have teamed up to develop a simulation of fleet carrier air and naval operations in the Pacific theater from 1941 to 1945. This simulation will be the recreation of a wargame classic- Carries At War.

According to Matrix Games' Director of Operations, David Heath, his company does not focus only on finding new products but, one of their goals is to restore some of the greatest titles of the past and that is why they have thought of reviving Carries At War. Wargame enthusiasts who will try out Carries At War will have to learn how to operate carrier fleets and how to develop coherent command strategies.

The game will feature historically accurate ships and aircraft profiles, as players will navigate them through Pearl Harbour, Midway, Coral Sea, Eastern Solomons and many other places that are boasting with history. Carrier At War's developer praises the AI of the game, which is supposedly one of the most challenging ones in wargaming history.

Matrix Games has a long history in producing historical wargames as they previously handled other games of the genre like: War in the Pacific, Highway to the Reich, Flashpoint Germany, Battles in Normandy, Gary Grigsby's World At War and many others.
