Major Minor's Majestic March from Majesco.... marches

I doubt it is really a good idea to link a family-friendly gaming console as the Nintendo Wii with a controversial rapper like Eminem, but the first thing that crossed my mind when I heard about this new Wii game was a bit of his lyrics: "These chicks don't even know the name of my band..." and so on. And this is partially true - in this game not only that chicks will have no idea what's your band's name, but they couldn't care less. Why? Because Major Minor's Majestic March is a... marching band sim. Weee!

So, finally, your dreams will come true with Majesco Entertainment's new title for the Wii consoles, right? I'm sure you've always wanted to become a marching band leader and now is your chance: the Wiimote turns into a "special" baton that can be used to keep the tempo, recruit new band members and pick valuable items. And the game keeps getting cooler: you have 15 different instruments to choose from and no less than 25 really, really, really famous marching band songs you probably know by heart right now.

Joke aside, the developers are really excited about their project: "There's something magical about marching bands that truly captures the imagination. The concept of leading a virtual band that's reliant on your musicianship is a perfect fit for the interactive capabilities of Wii," said John Merchant, Marketing Manager, Majesco Europe. "The combined musical and artistic superiority of Matsuura and Greenblat make them a natural choice to deliver this innovative title exclusively to the Wii audience."

Well... except for the funny name, Major Minor's Majestic March, which can be translated, following the "Eminem" rule into Eminemineminem (that would have sounded way better), I have nothing against this game. At least not until I get the chance to play it. But since a release date hasn't been announced, I'll keep waiting for Beer-drinking Dad instead.
