Do you have an iPhone? Do you also have an iPhone case? Then you should still read, because you might just see something that will make that cover seem pedestrian in comparison.

Mack in June, you may remember that MakerBot launched the MakerBot Developer Program, which provides designers with all the resources they need to use the 3D printing ecosystem set up by the company in their projects.

A company called Fraemes has just announced that is has joined this partnership, just like Modio did previously.

Its opening offer is of a series of iPhone cases that can bear more or less any design imaginable. You see, Fraemes is selling iPhone owners a special bumper.

That bumper allows buyers to attach any 3D printed personalized case to their handset, and switch out the inserts whenever they print another one they want to show off for a while.

Through the Fraemes MakerBot-Ready App, users can connect their MakerBot accounts, select an insert design and checkout. The 3D printer is immediately made available for printing through the MakerBot Desktop Library. Only iPhone 5/5s smartphone bumpers exist at this time, for $12 / €12 via the Fraemes website (or from a MakerBot retail store).

Obviously, you'll have to own a MakerBot 3D printer to actually make the inserts, or visit one of the aforementioned retail stores in New York, Boston or Greenwich.
