Compatible with any blog

It's been a while since the Mountain View company rolled out Google Custom Search, a special technology that allows the users to build their own search engine and place it on their website. Every once in a while, it updates the product in order to make it even more powerful and efficient for the consumers' needs. Today, a new important function of the service appears, enabling all blog owners to build a search engine in a matter of seconds. Basically, it is similar with a widget because it can be placed with ease on your blog and search the entire content.

As expected, it is now compatible with Blogger and it can be introduced on your page using the "Add a page element" function displayed in the Settings menu of the Template link. The interesting feature of this new ability is that the resulting search engine can search all your websites that your blog links to, not only the main page where you published the technology.

"You may already know how you can use our APIs to create innovative search-enabled applications. Today, we're delivering a Google Search widget for Blogger built using the AJAX Search API. Configure this widget on your Blogger blog to immediately search not just your blog posts, but across all the link lists/blogrolls you've set up on your blog and the links you've made from your posts -- in other words, the world around your blog!" Matt Wytock and Patrick Riley, Software Engineers said today.

The new function of the Google Custom Search technology is also compatible with other blogs but if you want to implement it into another platform than Blogger you must use the AJAX Search API to do it. If you want to find more information about the procedure of implementing the function in other blogs, you can read a Google post available here.
