We reported last week that Indian OEM WickedLeak plans to launch the sequel to the popular Wammy Note 3 phablet sometime in mid-June.

Well, it looks like the smartphone has been recently introduced in India and customers will be able to purchase it for just Rs 14,990 outright, which is about $235 or €205.

One of the strong points of the device is the fact that it comes with 4G support for all available networks in India, so those looking for a specific LTE-enabled smartphone can choose the Wammy Note 4 in a heartbeat.

“Following the success of Wammy Note 3, we are proud to introduce Wammy Note 4 smartphone. Wickedleak has always believed in providing the best specifications at the best price.

“With Wammy Note 4, we bring the high end smartphone experience in the price of a mid-range device,” said Aditya Mehta, CEO, WickedLeak Inc.

No word on Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade

As WickedLeak's official points out, Wammy Note 4 is a high-end smartphone priced like a mid-range device. Before getting into details though, you should know that the phablet ships with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

When it comes to hardware, the smartphone was confirmed to pack a 64-bit 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, a Mali T760 graphics processing unit and 3GB of RAM.

The phablet boasts a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the back, it packs a 13-megapixel camera with Sony IMX214 sensor, autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.

It's also worth mentioning the Wammy Note 4 offers dual-SIM support and is powered by a 3,250 mAh battery. Last but not least, the phablet packs 16GB of storage inside, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.
