And no, this is no sex toy

Feeling sleepy? Really, really sleepy? Do you have to learn for tomorrow's exam but, unfortunately, the party last night left quite a mark? Or even worse, you have to drive yourself over a long distance, but you're in an advanced state of fatigue? Well, whatever the reason for which you simply can't fall asleep, now you're not alone anymore in your struggle, because the people over at The Design Town came up with a little device called Wake-Up Angel, which will make sure that the user stays awake at all times.

While this is not the first device of its type (we've seen some similar products in the past, and there are certain car makers that plan to or have already introed such systems in their own vehicles), it's certainly one of the most attractive. Although it resembles, at least to some extent, a hearing aid, the Wake-up Angel has a whole different function, which I'll explain as follows.

Thus, the tiny portable device is "installed" behind the user's ear, as it features a long hook-like element that attaches for support to the aforementioned organ. The wearer can choose between 4 different adjustment levels, which mark the angles (compared to the normal, vertical position) made by the user's head as it leans forward when the person tends to go to sleep.

Then, all the users have to do is switch the device on and place it behind their ears. Whenever their heads will lean forward at a steeper angle than the "safe" setting (generally 30 degrees or lower), the Wake-up Angle will start vibrating strong enough for the wearer to immediately wake up.

The device is available in 2 colors (either black or pink, probably for male or female users) and also comes with a key chain lock, which means that it can also double as a keychain. Unfortunately, this thing is rather heavy for a device worn around the ear, as it weighs around 90 grams.

Unfortunately, no pricing details are available for this product, and, by the looks of things (namely, the pics), this thing is, at least for the time being, an Asian-exclusive.

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
