A couple of suspected drug dealers and producers went out for a fancy meal, but as they were short on cash, they decided to leave a generous tip for the waitress in the shape of an envelope filled with crystal meth. The server was baffled at the sight of the drug-containing envelope and immediately called her manager.

Ryan Benson and Erica Manly went for a nice dinner out at Oregon's Twisted Fish Steakhouse, but lacking actual money they decided to improvise their gratuity and paid their meal with a gift card. Feeling complied to tip the waitress for her excellent serving skills, they gave the woman an envelope filled with drugs.

After settling the tab, the 40-year-old man handed the server an envelope with a question mark written on it. When the waitress opened the envelope, she saw some crystal-like small rocks and at a closer look she discovered it was actual crystal meth, notes Daily Mail.

Shocked with her tip, the waitress calmly walked away and immediately called her manager, then proceeded with calling the authorities. She couldn't believe the fact that the couple could use crystal meth as a currency and have the courage of passing it off like they were not doing anything wrong.

When police officers arrived at the scene of the crime, the generous drug-spreading couple was still there and were taken into custody. They searched the two and found more drugs in Manly's purse, the woman was carrying with her crystal meth worth $1,500 (€1,100).

Authorities took the couple to the precinct and obtained a search warrant to investigate their home, a room in a Holiday Inn Express. In the room, they found a small meth lab with all of the instruments needed for cooking the drug.

With the proof they needed, authorities charged the two creative tippers with possession and manufacture of methamphetamine, and Miss Manly was also charged with delivery of the drug, after trying to pass it on as a gratuity in a restaurant.
