Wacom is known as an important manufacturer of input devices. To focus especially on the tablet systems, the company has recently decided to introduce three new Intuos3 Special Edition pen tablets. Happily, the event coincides with Wacom's 25th celebration of being in the business.

As for the tablets, (sadly the site was not updated, so no pictures) they come available in three different sizes, which include the 6 x 8, 6 x 11 and the 9 x12 inch versions. Apparently, the manufactures have improved the design and gave the items a black and gun metal gray color schemes.

Regarding the new additions in the company's portfolio, the newcomers are the Wacom's Classic Pen, as well as the Intuos3 Grip Pen. Needless to say each of the table includes some nice "Professional Accessory Kit", which contains five standard nibs, five stroke nibs, file flex nibs, an alternate pen grip without any side switch holes, one nib removal tool and one replacement side switch.

When designing the new devices, the manufactures have replaced the traditional gray overlay with a transparent one when the user really needs it. Therefore, Corel has agreed to ship a special edition of software package for the customers of the newly released Intuos3 Edition only at the end of September.

And if you're wondering about the pricing and availability options, the brand new tablets are priced at $370 (6x8), $410 (6x11) and $500 (9x12). Not bad!

According to Electronista, Wacom said: "Intuos3 turns on the full power of Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter and over 100 other leading software applications with its intuitive controls. Four programmable ExpressKeys and a finger-sensitive Touch Strip, located on each side of the tablet surface, are within easy reach for modifier keys, keyboard shortcuts, toggling between displays, scrolling, zooming, controlling brush size and more. The comfortable cordless, battery-free Grip Pen offers 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity for superior creative input and reduces repetitive motion when used alternately with the ergonomic five-button Special Edition mouse."

As for the package you receive when buying the tablets, the Intuos3 Special Edition pen tablets ship with Adobe Photoshop Elements 5, 4 for the Mac users, which is great when editing photo images. The Corel Painter Essentials 3 is great to use when creating some natural media art, while applying natural photographic enhancements have never been easier than with Nik color Efex Pro 2 IE. Of course, Wacom proudly recommends the Brushes 3 for more choices in the recently improved versions of Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.

That's pretty good stuff! Thanks Electronista for this useful information!
