14 DAY TRIAL // Tt eSPORTS has just released a mouse that might come across as overly button-covered to many people, but which is actually not as encumbered in that regard as some other we've seen.
The new product from the professional e-Sports gaming peripheral developer is called VOLOS Combat White and possesses a total of 14 buttons, though that's not nearly the limit of how many different commands can be sent to the PC.
That's right, while there are only 14 physical buttons, there are 140 macros that can be programmed and distributed across 10 profiles. The bundled software will be used to help handle the change between macros.
The 14 buttons are distributed like this: the normal left/right click buttons, two buttons behind the scroll wheel, four thumb buttons, two buttons closer to the rear of the mouse on the same side, and three buttons on the other side of the peripheral.
It's easy to see why Tt eSPORTS would consider this a good product for lovers of, say, Guildwars, World of Warcraft, 2112: Revolution, etc.
The design of the VOLOS Combat White is bound to attract people too. Not only is the clean, immaculate color attractive in itself, but the thumb buttons are also designed to be colorful and intuitive, much like those from a console gamepad. This makes it easier to press the correct one.
There's even a function lock switch, which disables macros altogether. The bundled software has a similar option. That way, accidental presses are avoided when not playing an MMO.
Other useful features include on-the-fly DPI adjustment and scroll wheel color changing that differentiates between 5 DPI levels.
Speaking of color changing, the LED lighting system actually allows for selection out of 16.8 million colors for the circular light up on the left click scroll wheel, profile switch indicator, and the Battle Dragon logo. These LED systems seem to be really popular on peripherals these days.
All in all, we dare say that the Tt eSPORTS VOLOS Combat White mouse is entitled to its price of $69.99 / €52.
