Vivienne Tam did a good job, anyway

Does anyone listen to that round-shaped bulky and annoying Walkman anymore? As far as I am concerned, the Walkman is dead! However, there are some who'd rather invest some money in small businesses than completely deny the idea of the ultimate MP3 revolution. In this case, it seems the basic functionality is the MP3 player, while the extra one is the Walkman option, which is a sort of better-than-nothing kind of stuff.

Vivienne Tam has successfully came up with an interesting hybrid of these two. Even through the MP3walkman is just an idea for the time being, it does look pretty damn good. The glossy red casing goes just fine with the gadgetry, and if you add a curvaceous shape and an awkward somehow classy design line, it's even better.

When it comes to a potential use of the player, it gets really dull, as the portable device can only decode MP3 file formats, no video capabilities, no gaming options, no extra cool features, no nothing. The designer bets all the pennies on the striking look, and with a little bit of luck and with so many effeminate consumers out there, she might even have some point about that.

If you're wondering about the potential costs of making such portable devices, I guess it won't eat lots of expensive stuff, but I feel it's going to cost much more than the price of an iPod, or of some other popular MP3 player.

However, there are a lot of things to say about concept designs that are flooding the electronic market. And, for whom it may concern, this one can be viewed at Vivienne Tam flagship store in New York.

The best thing is that the designer contributed to another step forward in making the gadgets more fashionable. I can hardly wait my Alexander McQueen MP3 player concept!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
