Last Friday, Vogue US announced that Kim Kardashian had finally made it on the cover. Moreover, Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour actually issued a statement to say that rapper Kanye West, Kim’s fiancé, had not forced her into agreeing to it.

Not that this prevented or lessened in any way the backlash that is still raging on. Vogue is and has always been a fashion publication and, as such, it has certain standards it must never fail to attain – but it’s doing it now.

Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, is a reality star whose only talent is that of projecting a vacuous, classless, and ridiculous image of herself to millions of eager fans, passing it as “reality.” Or so angry (former) Vogue readers say of why she should have never been granted a spot on the cover, with or without Kanye.

Now that the online preview of the full interview is out, our guess is the controversy won’t die anytime soon. Vogue’s Hamish Bowles spent a lot of time with Kim, Kanye, and their daughter North for the interview, which is yet to be revealed in full. During this time, he also met Kris Jenner, Kim’s mother and manager, who is never too far away whenever the curvaceous star is out.

“‘Anybody need anything?’ asks the agelessly glamorous, apricot-skinned Kris, fluttering eyelashes as thick, long, and lustrous as a hummingbird’s wings,” the piece reads.

Without saying that Kris isn’t “ageless” looking (that would be insulting for her since she’s spent a fortune on facelifts, surgical corrections, Botox, and fillers), this description of her sounds very much like someone is really trying to suck up to her, for whatever reason.

Believe it or not, celebrity pundits are unpleasantly surprised to note, but Vogue is actually fawning over Kris Jenner, aka the woman also known in the blogosphere as “Lucifer’s Homegirl” for apparently being willing to sell the soul of her own children to get press and make money.

And there’s more from the Vogue piece:

“‘Water? Vodka? Get on my train!’ she laughs. ‘Just kidding!’ Kris (who, as Kim notes, ‘goes by the name of Lovey, not Grandma!’) is an astute businesswoman and an executive producer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, now in its eighth season. Her home office is stacked with Kardashian product and magazine spreads – there is even a framed copy of her estranged husband Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner’s 1979 GQ cover.”

Kim Kardashian has been waiting for this moment for years: the moment when she’d move on from being just a reality star to A-list celebrity. Kris Jenner has made the transition with her so, whether “haters” like it or not, it’s happening.
