Might have modified the solution

Mountain View-based Internet giant Google started the delivery of a new Android flavor for users of a Nexus One device a couple of weeks ago, but only handsets in North America received the update. However, Nexus One was released on the market in Europe too, on the airwaves of wireless carrier Vodafone, and it seems that it might soon taste the latest Android platform version (Android 2.2 Froyo) on the old continent too.

According to a recent article on Euro Droid, this is what Vodafone Germany announced officially via Twitter. Nexus One users in the country should start receiving the software solution within the following few days, the carrier reportedly stated. Moreover, it seems that the move is the result of a long list of complaints regarding the delay of this update's arrival.

The news site also notes that the wireless carrier has actually delayed the update due to the fact that it is making a series of changes to the code. This might be only a rumor in the end, and the delay might have been caused by other reasons, but chances are that Vodafone is indeed considering the inclusion of some specific features into the handset's software.

Some suggest that Vodafone's intentions are honorable in the end. The company reportedly want to make sure that some of the device's capabilities and bundled services work as they should, including voicemail and data connectivity. There are also those who suggest that the carrier might intend to remove some features from the mix, such as tethering and hotspot features.

All in all, the good news seems to be the fact that European Nexus One might receive the long expected Android 2.2 Froyo, though it remains to be seen whether Vodafone would roll-it out on more markets at the same time. We should wait for it to start arriving on handsets to see which Nexus One units in Europe would receive it, as well as whether Vodafone has made big chances to it.
