Two of the strongest telecom companies

Vodafone and Nokia must be a pair made in heaven, between the world's largest mobile operator by revenue and the world's largest handset manufacturer. The two companies will work together for bringing Vodafone services on Nokia handsets.

The integrated suite of the operator's services will be combined with Nokia Ovi Services on a wide range of handsets coming from this producer. These services will offer customers a greater choice of communications, Internet services, content and browsing through a range of premium handsets on high speed 3G and 3G broadband networks.

As a result of the new partnership, customers will get easier access to all of Vodafone's Internet and entertainment services as well as all of Ovi from Nokia services on a large number of handsets. A large number of Internet services will be ready for access at the sole click of a button. Having mobile phones to support such evolved features and a carrier to bring them to the users makes this partnership the most natural to come from the two companies.

Vodafone looks to bring customers a complete suite of communications, browsing, content and Internet services. "This is a logical step for Vodafone to make, further improving our customer experience with many of the services already launched with leading Internet partners", said Frank Rovekamp, Global Chief Marketing Officer of Vodafone Group.

"Web2.0 is all about social networking and enabling people to connect with each other in new ways. Bringing location and context awareness to web2.0 services is the next stage in the web development and Nokia multimedia computers enable people to participate to their favourite internet services on-the-go", commented Executive Vice President and General Manager Nokia Multimedia Anssi Vanjoki.

The Vodafone music service and the Nokia Music Store are available on Nokia's handsets that will hit the market in 2008. A large number of handsets will be exclusive to Vodafone.
