Opera and Vodafone are making new steps towards transforming their partnership into a solid result, and the release of a new flavor of Opera Mini, one that is available exclusively for the customers of Vodafone Romania, is one of them.

Opera Software and Vodafone Romania announced at the Webstock event in Bucharest, the release of a co-branded version of the most popular mobile browser in the world.

The new flavor of the browser has already been made available for download for the over nine million customers that the wireless carrier has, the duo announced.

Through this application, people will enjoy a faster, enhanced Internet browsing experience, regardless the phone type they are using.

Moreover, the application will provide users with instant access to their favorite sites while on the go. Opera Mini comes with new Speed Dial shortcuts, so that Romanian users can benefit from one click access to Vodafone Romania’s unique set of services, as well as to popular local websites.

“The new co-branded version of the Opera Mini mobile browser is the next step in our strategy to provide our users with the best tools, applications and content for their mobiles,” Dragos Chivu, director of Data Marketing, Vodafone Romania, stated.

“Now, Vodafone users not only have the best network and the fastest mobile Internet, but also a more efficient way to stay connected to the online environment.”

When it comes to Opera Mini usage in Europe, Romania is one of the leading countries, Opera announced.

The mobile browser offers users fast access to various websites, while also providing them with important savings courtesy of its included compression technology.

These features, as well as an appealing and easy to use interface, have helped Opera Mini enjoy a significant increase in usage in Romania during the past few years.

“Nothing can stop the mobile web boom. By expanding our partnership with Vodafone Romania, we aim to bring the mobile Web to the next level, with a new set of features available for all types of mobile phones,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.

“We are excited to bring even more consumers in Romania to this mobile surfing level, so please fasten your seatbelts.”
