We reported earlier that Vodafone UK, along with a few more carriers in Europe, will bring the Nexus S in select countries in the near future.

Vodafone has now confirmed that it will launch Google's Nexus S smartphone through Vodafone stores and partner market stores in 24 countries around the world. Even though the carrier failed to unveil a list of specific countries that will receive the device or a certain launch date, we still have some information regarding the availability of the phone on the European mobile phone market.

In the following days, customers will be able to buy the device in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Czech Republic, France and Russia.

Patrick Chomet, Vodafone’s Group director of terminals, said:

It’s great news that our customers will very soon be able to get Google’s Nexus S direct through our stores. At Vodafone we work closely with our partners across the industry to offer our customers a leading smartphone range that includes the latest innovations in product and user experience.”

Vodafone UK has also confirmed that it will have exclusivity over the White Nexus S version, but SFR France and Vodafone Germany also show a white-colored Nexus S on their websites, so they might retail the white version also after the exclusivity period expires.

Furthermore, it seems that Vodafone's Nexus S will be shipped with a 4-inch Super Clear LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors and 480 x 800 pixels resolution, and not the superior Super AMOLED display, but it is unclear if this will be the case for all 24 countries.

DJ Lee, executive vice president and head of Sales & Marketing Team at Samsung’s Mobile Communications Business, said:

I am very pleased to introduce this amazing mobile experience to Vodafone’s customers. Nexus S integrates Samsung’s best-in-class hardware and technology with Android’s stunning new features and user experiences. Nexus S enables users to enjoy the latest mobile technology and faster multimedia content with an intuitive user experience.”

In addition, Vodafone states that the Nexus S will be available in Australia, but pricing and launch details will be announced later on.
