It appears that Vodafone Australia is taking good care of its customers and provides them with the latest information regarding future software updates for their devices.

According to the latest blog post published by Vodafone, the Australian carrier plans to push the hotly awaited Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich for HTC Sensation, Sensation XE and Sensation XL in May 22.

All three HTC smartphones are currently stuck on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but the Australian operator plans to change this as early as next week.

Unfortunately, Aussie customers won’t be among the first to receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update for HTC’s Sensation family, as the Taiwanese handset maker already deployed the upgrade in Europe and some other regions.

Aside from bumping the phones’ software to version Android 4.0.3 ICS, the upgrade will also update the HTC Sense UI to version 3.6.

On a side note, customers who purchased the HTC Sensation through Telstra will probably be mad about Vodafone’s recent announcement, as the former has just confirmed the Android 4.0 ICS update for the Sensation has been delayed until June due to “issues identified in testing.”

Vodafone Australia claims that the rollout of Android 4.0.3 ICS for all three HTC Sensation models is scheduled for 12:00PM, 22 May 2012.

However, this does not mean that all those owning an HTC Sensation device will receive the update at the same time. To manually check for the update simply head over to Settings / About phone / Software updates / Check now.

It is recommended to back up all private data stored on the phone prior to installing to update, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises. Make sure the phone’s battery is at least 50% charged as well. Stay tuned for the latest news on Vodafone’s rollout of Android 4.0 ICS for HTC Sensation devices.
