Australian mobile phone users interested in buying a new Galaxy S II smartphone from wireless carrier Vodafone has now the possibility to acquire it cheaper if they make the purchase online.

Part of an offer that will last until the end of August, the Samsung Galaxy S II offers Vodafone Australia users the possibility to save between $120 and $216 when acquiring the device with a contract agreement.

“Grab our best selling Samsung Galaxy S II online and save $216. Normally $14 over 24 months, now only $5 per month on the $49 Vodafone Cap over 24 months, online only. Total min cost $1296,” the wireless carrier announced.

Vodafone also notes that the offer was put in place only for approved customers, and that it requires the spending of a minimum of $54 each month. The early exit fee is of $54 x months left on contract.

Another offer was also put in place: “Pick-up the Galaxy S II with any Vodafone Infinite plan online and save compared to buying in store. On the Vodafone Infinite $45 plan, the price is normally $15, now it’s only $10 per month over 24 month, online only, save $120! Total min cost $1560.”

“Approved customers only. Minimum monthly spend is $55. Early exit fee: $55 x months left on contract,” the mobile phone carrier also explains.

As stated above, both of these offers will end on August 31st, so those who would like to take advantage of them should hurry up.

Galaxy S II was launched at Vodafone several weeks ago, with Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS on board and with a dual-core 1.2GHz application processor inside, in addition to the large 4.3-inch touchscreen Super AMOLED Plus display that Samsung packed it with.

The smartphone also comes with 16GB of internal memory, microSD card slot, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS receiver, and an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, complemented by a front camera for video chat.
