14 DAY TRIAL // Just 20 more days until Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 RTM will be made available for download to customers worldwide, Microsoft confirmed at the start of this week.
Accompanied by the motto “coding optional,” Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 comes with the promise of streamlining the development of business applications.
The official webpage already set up for Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 confirms the imminent release deadline of the new Visual Studio tool.
Further confirmation of the launch date was also offered by a member of the LightSwitch team:
“Microsoft Visual Studio LightSwitch gives you a simpler and faster way to create high-quality business applications for the desktop and the cloud. LightSwitch is a new addition to the Visual Studio family and is launching on July 26th!”
Customers that visit the Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 site will also be able to sign-up for additional notifications related to the tool’s general availability.
“You can sign up here for updates about the launch of the product. You will also receive a weekly email as part of a six-week series about product features and tips on how to maximize your experience with LightSwitch,” revealed Microsoft’s Justin Anderson.
Microsoft started offering early adopters the chance to test drive Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 in August 2010 with the first Beta of the tool.
A subsequent testing release, Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 Beta 2 was made available for download earlier this year, in March 2011.
Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 Beta 2 continues to be available even at the time of this article, and probably will still be until the RTM bits are launched.
Customers that have yet to test Visual Studio LightSwitch 2011 can grab Beta 2 and take it out for a spin to see whether the “coding optional” promise from Microsoft holds any truth to it, in preparation for the RTM release on July 26th.
