14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft launched the Developer Preview of Visual Studio 11 just a day after downloads of Windows 8 Build 8102 Milestone 3 (M3) went live. In all fairness, even one of the ISO images for the Windows 8 Developer Preview packed the Express SKU of Visual Studio 11, both available since September 14.
Early adopters can now download and test both the Express and Ultimate editions of Visual Studio 11 Developer Previews, and just as it is the case with the pre-Beta of Windows 8, contribute to the development process through feedback.
This week, the Redmond company introduced Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview Survey, giving devs that have played with VS11 over the last three weeks a chance at sharing their thoughts with the software giant.
Feedback can be provided not only for Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview and Visual Studio 11 Express for Windows Developer Preview, but also for Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 11 Developer Preview.
Microsoft is particularly interested in a few topics, which I’m more than sure also resonate with developers, including speed and stability.
“Have you had a chance to play around with the Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview? If so, we’d like to hear your early impressions, particularly around performance, reliability, and quality. Let us know what you think by taking the Visual Studio 11 Developer Preview survey,” revealed Doug Turnure – Visual Studio program manager.
Here are some examples of the feedback that Microsoft is expecting from VS11 testers: “Please indicate how satisfied you are with the PERFORMANCE of Visual Studio 11. Please indicate how satisfied you are with the QUALITY of Visual Studio 11. Please indicate how satisfied you are with the RELIABILITY of Visual Studio 11.”
For each topic the company is allowing early adopters to provide their own comments. They can also rate the Developer Preview of Visual Studio 11 in terms of satisfaction, and again, share their input with the company.
