Though the market is already swarming with wireless keyboards of various sizes, VisionTek decided to take mobility one step further and designed the CandyBoard, a mini keyboard only slightly bigger than the classic American candy bar and meant to complement one's collection of remote controls.

The CandyBoard has 69 keys and 26 LEDs meant to illuminate them, for visibility even in low lighting conditions.

Also, the electronic features a capacitive touch-pad, which will remove the necessity for a mouse when accessing the PC from a distance.

Furthermore, the device uses 2.4GHz wireless connectivity in order to interface with home electronics and can maintain a stable connection over a distance of up to 10 meters.

Not only that, but the electronic even comes with a built-in laser pointer and, of course, a rechargeable Li-ion battery.

“It has an innovative touchpad that completely eliminates the need for a mouse.” stated, Jeff Hoeft, VP of Product Development at VisionTek.

“Most users have bulky wireless keyboards and mice for use with their entertainment computers, but the CandyBoard takes care of all those needs in the size smaller than a standard TV remote control,” he added.

“The integration between your home computer and your television entertainment system creates a need for more mobile and user-friendly peripherals.” said, Mark Bilson, VP of Sales at VisionTek.

“Web based content has ballooned in the last year and only promises to explode in the next decade. I can honestly envision a CandyBoard in every family room across America.”

VisionTek has already started shipping the CandyBoard, through such retailers as Amazon, Buy.com, Dell.com, NCIX and Newegg, and has given it a price tag of $89.99.

Finally, end-users interested in a first-hand inspection of the specifications need only access the official product page that the hardware supplier added to its official website.
