The development team at Visceral Games announces that at the moment the upcoming Battlefield Hardline experience includes 150 ranks that gamers can unlock as they play multiplayer, but that the number is still being tweaked and might change if the feedback shows it needs to.

The leader of the studio, Steve Papoutsis, states on his official Twitter feed that work on the game is progressing well and that the number of ranks that are introduced in the shooter is designed to give gamers a clear progression system.

At the moment, Visceral Games is not willing to talk directly about the kind of rewards that will be offered at each new level or whether some upgrades will be linked to performance in battles rather than to simple experience gains.

A focus on multiplayer

The developers are also making it clear that tanks and jets will not be part of Battlefield Hardline, but that a lot of other hardware associated with military operations, including weaponry and items, will be included in order to give players options depending on the level and the game modes they are using.

Visceral Games says that 2 of the core modes are designed specifically for use in eSports, and one of them will be revealed later in the year.

The studio also explains that details are still being finalized when it comes to character customizations for Battlefield Hardline.

To the dismay of many fans, the game maker is also confirming that no visual recoil will be included because the game is designed to appeal to a large number of players.

Apparently, more details about the single-player campaign in the video game will be offered before launch and the developers have previously described it as being inspired by modern television series.

The delay that can make things better

The launch of Battlefield Hardline was supposed to take place during the fall of this year, designed to compete with the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare title coming from Sledgehammer Games and Activision.

After the feedback that was offered during the beta process by the fan community, publisher Electronic Arts decided to move the launch into early 2015 in order to make sure that the quality of the title would be equal to what the players are expecting.

Speculation states that the title could be out in February and that EA is preparing a big promotional campaign for it, with a beta version for all platforms set to take place late during the current year.
