14 DAY TRIAL // Two new engines have been added to Google’s malware-scanning site VirusTotal. The new scanners are from Bkav and CMC InfoSec, both IT security companies based in Vietnam.
According to VirusTotal, Bkav’s scanner includes both signature-based and cloud technologies. CMC, on the other hand, has developed an in-house engine called Odin, which features advanced malware de-obfuscation technologies.
CMC’s reputation-based system, CMCRadar, is designed to accelerate response time in case of “accelerate response time, early warnings and global white listing.”
At the beginning of September, VirusTotal also announced that security solutions provider Zemana has agreed to share some behavioral notions on data-stealing malware.
Zemana is not designed to work as a standalone antivirus solution. Instead, it provides an additional layer of protection.
