Yes, it's the Xbox 360 version of Virtua Fighter 5 that has gone gold, don't freak out imagining that SEGA tricked you with VF5 for PlayStation 3. The same stunningly looking title, available for quite some time on Sony's platform, is only now shipping to manufacturing plants to become Xbox 360 copies of one of the best fighting games out there.

We've reviewed the title thoroughly, emphasizing what it probably shows off best - looks. SEGA has managed to deliver the best looking fighting game to date, using Sony's PlayStation 3 as a demonstration platform, combining a mature fighting system with a bigger array of moves.

However, we've failed to talk about one important feature within Virtua Fighter 5 for the Playstation 3, but not because we didn't want to, but because it simply doesn't have it. We're talking about an online game mode which only the Xbox 360 version of the game sports.

SEGA Europe Ltd. today announced that Virtua Fighter 5, the highly-anticipated arcade fighting game for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, has gone gold. Virtua Fighter 5 for the Xbox 360 will feature an online versus mode at launch and is scheduled to ship across Europe on October 26th, 2007, says the official report.

Xbox 360 gamers looking for a free taste of SEGA's fighting game can even log on to Xbox Live Marketplace and download the free Virtua Fighter 5 playable demo, so they can decide whether the last iteration in the popular fighting series is worth buying.

According to the same report, the Virtua Fighter 5 demo allows players partial access to both VS. mode, where two players can battle it out (offline), and also to Arcade mode for spectacular single player action. Both modes feature Akira, Sarah, El Blaze and Eileen as playable characters and the demo has three playable stages - "Arena" (El Blaze's stage), "Deep Mountain" (Lei-Fei's stage) and "Island" (Jeffrey's stage).

Don't forget to check out our review of Virtua Fighter 5, while downloading the game on XBLM, as the PS3 version of the game is almost identical to the Xbox 360 version, except for that online versus mode.
