Virgin Mobile, the Sprint's wholly-owned carrier has just announced the exclusive availability of the LG200 feature-phone.

The phone is available for $69.99 (excluding taxes) on Virgin Mobile's payLo service, which offers 1500 minutes of talk time, with 500 text, picture, or video messages and 10MB of data use for $30 per month.

Dubbed as the ultimate messaging phone, the carrier appeals to customers who prefer simple phones with standard features instead of smartphones.

By using the tagline “sometimes you just don't need an app for that” Virgin Mobile is clearly aiming the LG200 to the non-tech savvy or people who are simply not interested in using their phone for other than making phone calls, taking pictures or sending text messages.

The reality is that it’s not all about smartphones,” said Mark Lederman, director, payLo by Virgin Mobile. “There are millions of people who don’t want or can’t afford higher-end handsets and expensive data plans. These ‘basic communicators’ deserve a brand like payLo by Virgin Mobile with industry-leading value and consumer-friendly offers.”

To make things even more appealing, the LG200 comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and an attractive payLo pre-paid service plan.

Courtesy to the included keyboard, the LG200 allows users to type faster and easier. The phone's memory can store up to 600 contacts and comes bundled with Instant Messaging, quick text and picture messaging features.

LG200 comes with a small 2.2-inch display, a high-resolution VGA camera with 2X digital zoom, a One-Touch speakerphone and Bluetooth wireless technology (version 2.1 with Enhanced Data Rate).

In addition, Web and email features allow users to easily access websites such as Yahoo! Mail and Gmail.

On related news, it appears that the LG200 will be launched by Best Buy on May 22 as well, but no additional details regarding its price have been disclosed yet.
