Non-profit organization goes a bit too dramatic to make a point: cutting classes is not ok

The Learn for Life Foundation must have been aware of how difficult it is to send out the message that cutting classes is not ok – and make it stick! – so, instead of just saying so in an ad, they came up with an idea that does the job wonderfully.

As it happens, it also involves a lot of gore and screaming, but it’s still very efficient. You can see their ad in the video above: it was released the other day and it already has over 3.7 million views on YouTube.

Called “Set Yourself Free,” the ad initially plays out like most commercials taking a romanticized look at the act of cutting school: we have four gorgeous teens (two boys and two girls), running away from school for a field trip at the beach.

They arrive here, they make out on the sand, laugh and run into the sunset, strike model poses, and drink beer while, presumably, congratulating themselves on their brilliant idea of skipping school. And here is where things take a turn for the worse.

I won’t spoil the video for you but I will say this: if you are easily offended or grossed out, you might want to skip it because *it contains graphic images that may be deemed upsetting. This said, enjoy!
