14 DAY TRIAL // James Franco, famous performance artist, will not let Shia LaBeouf, famous performance artist, have all the fun without him getting in on it. As the Internet is still having a blast with the MotivaShian meme, which started from a video of Shia yelling at the camera for 1 full minute “Just do it! Just do it NOW!,” Franco delivers his own take on it.
And it’s actually very funny, as you can see for yourself below. The second video embedded at the end of this post is the original, from which the meme was started.
It wasn’t just an instance of Shia being Shia and delivering a rant out of nowhere, but was actually a segment included in a video project for the art school Central Saint Martins, in London. The project was called #Introductions and saw students write 30-second scenes for Shia to interpret in front of a greenscreen.
The greenscreen would then make it easier for anyone to use the footage and the dialog to serve whatever purpose they wanted, which is precisely what the Internet did in creating the MotivaShian meme.
James Franco has a different idea, though. His motivational speech is for a hypothetical toddler who remains indifferent to potty training, so James plans to scare him into pooing in the toilet by yelling at him. It could probably work, too.
