Dame Helen Mirren isn’t just a very talented actress, a gorgeous woman and a very interesting celebrity: she is also a lady and she acts like it in everything she does, down to the way she handles herself when she happens to trip and fall on a red carpet, in front of a considerable crowd of photographers.

This is exactly what happened at the 65th Berlin International Film the other day, where she had arrived to do press and promote her most recent film, “Woman in Gold,” also starring Ryan Reynolds.

Dame Mirren strutted on the red carpet in the most gorgeous D&G lace gown in bold green, posed for pictures as is mandatory, waved to photographers she recognized (or who had simply asked her to) and then moved to go up the stairs to join the cast for a group photo.

Either because her dress was too long and it got caught in her long sleeves, or because it was too tight, she stumbled on the first step and fell, resting for a few seconds with her hands on the stairs, until a gentleman came to her rescue and helped her up to the others.

As she was leaving, she turned to the photographers once more, and with a smile, said, “thank you for taking that picture” in what seemed to be the sweetest tone ever, but was clearly not meant that way. I told you she’s the most graceful celebrity around.

Here is the video.
