On the upside, at least he knows now that Obama likes him

James Franco has been having a very rough month: not only was he one of the two leading stars of an action comedy called “The Interview” that drew the ire of Kim Jong-un and a group of hackers called Guardians of Peace, which eventually brought Sony Pictures to its knees because of it, but he’s also the butt of all jokes online right now.

In all fairness, it’s not his fault that people are mocking him – if you choose not to consider his not having the last name Flaco as that.

US President Barack Obama met and spoke with the press for his usual year-end conference, and the touchy topic of the Sony Hack came up, as was to be expected. The hack occurred in November and saw Sony being targeted and summoned to halt the release of the aforementioned film, in which Franco starred opposite Seth Rogen.

The ending of the film saw their characters successfully kill North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The hackers stole thousands of files from the Sony servers and they released them in regular batches, exposing all the inside workings at Sony but also personal email and physical addresses of the Sony staff, salaries and social security numbers.

Still, according to President Obama, Sony “made a mistake” when they gave in to the hackers’ demands and canceled the release of the film and pulled all promo material for it from their websites.

The President finds it hilarious that Sony would cave like that when North Korea chose to be offended by a Seth Rogen movie, out of all the things it could have found offense with! Meanwhile, the Internet finds it hilarious that Obama thinks Franco’s name is James Flaco.
