Several scenes showing brutal attacks over some teenagers from Bringhton brought YouTube in spotlights, the authorities criticizing the Google product for ignorance. Their protests are aimed to attract the attention of the entire media, accusing the online video sharing service for allowing users to upload any type of content on their page. However, YouTube was often criticized for its filters but now the authorities are allied against the Mountain View-based company.

"Footage of violent attacks taking place in Brighton have been posted on video sharing websites such as YouTube. The assaults are part of an increasingly disturbing trend among certain groups of teenagers to glorify violence. Here, David Lepper, MP for Brighton Pavilion, argues that those who allow the videos to be posted on the internet - as well as the thugs they feature - should face court action," The Argus reported.

In the past, YouTube was often accused for its weak filters because harmful content was uploaded on its page and attracted users' criticism. However, Google's online video sharing service plans numerous moves that will increase the functionality of the product as well as the protection against copyright infringement accusations. The Claim Your Content upcoming feature was announced since Google acquired YouTube but was recently confirmed by Eric Schmidt, the search giant CEO. The new function will be released soon and will require the users to verify the ownership of a clip before they upload it on YouTube.

An impressive update is also scheduled for the mid-summer, Google planning to include pre-clip ads and earn money for every video uploaded by the users. This way, the search giant will share revenues with the uploaders, a move that will surely attract even more visitors to the page.
