Fans have turned the crash site where actor Paul Walker and his friend lost their lives over the weekend into a memorial. Police are trying to shut it down, but the fans are relentless in their bid to say their goodbye to Paul. Co-star and friend Vin Diesel showed up in person to thank them.

Paul and Roger Rodas were in a Porsche Carrera GT when Rodas, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree over the weekend. An explosion occurred immediately, killing the two before they even had the chance to try to make their escape.

Since the tragedy, fans have been coming to the crash site to light candles and leave something in Paul’s memory. His co-star in the “Fast and Furious” franchise, Tyrese Gibson, also showed up earlier this week, to leave a single yellow flower and take some of the ashes with him, a memory of Paul.

Vin Diesel came for the fans, as the video below can confirm.

“If my brother were here right now and saw all the love that you’re bringing here. If he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time, and that his family gets to see all of you show the love that you’ve shown Paul… It’s gonna stay with me forever,” Vin told them through the speaker on a police car.

“I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him,” he added.

As he was getting back into his car to leave, the paparazzo who shot the video proved that, even in the most painful times, there’s always room for shamelessness, asking him rather stupid and totally inappropriate questions like if he knew when “Fast & Furious 7” would resume shooting, and if he ever had “something like this” happen to him.

The look on Diesel’s face pretty much says it all, so we don’t have to anymore.
