With the current popularity of High-Definition (HD) and Full-HD video content, consumers, especially those from the entry-level and mainstream markets, are always on the lookout for affordable LCD solutions that will allow them to fully enjoy such image quality. Seeking to cater to this need, ViewSonic has been developing for some time an LED-backlit Full-HD LCD TV known as the VT2300LED. This display was first demonstrated at this year's Consumer Electronics Show and now, after months of waiting, it has finally come to the market.

The VT2300LED LCD TV has a screen size of 23 inches and a glossy, black frame that adds style and enhances the Full-HD multimedia playback experience. As for the experience itself, it is enabled by the obvious maximum resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels, the brightness of 300 cd/m2, the response time of 5ms and the dynamic contrast ratio of 8,000;1 (static ratio is of 1,000:1). The entire device, including the stand, measures 565 x 418 x 191 mm.

"Our LED technology takes the viewing experience to the next level," Gene Ornstead, director of DTV and business development for ViewSonic, said. "With our new ViewLED TV solutions like the VT2300LED, customers can enjoy 1080p Full HD enhanced picture and video quality with the added benefits of great contrast and vivid color derived from the LED backlight technology. Partnered with an energy saving design, the VT2300LED TV offers the optimal entertainment solution."

To complement this feature set, ViewSonic built its product with a mercury-free backlight and the OptiSync technology, which supports HDMI with high-definition content protection (HDCP) and analog (VGA) signals. The TV also has a pair of 5W integrated speakers and an advanced image-processing technology that improves contrast, optimizes color and eliminates noise.

The biggest advantage of this newest electronic is, most likely, its price of only $399, which is quite low compared with that of other Full-HD solutions of this size. The display developer also offers a one-year warranty.
