Though they might not be so unusual if we're only looking at ViewSonic's product line

ViewSonic always seems to have some new display on the way to the market, so it was, to some extent, expected that it would launch something new this month. Exactly what it released is a bit more surprising though.

ViewSonic didn't restrict itself to the standard monitor mold this time, instead opting to release a pair of displays more geared towards digital signage and commercial markets.

They are called TD2740 and TD3240 and measure 27 inches and 32 inches in diagonal, respectively.

The former is the one that consumers and commercial customers can use, while the latter is more for interactive digital signage applications.

The TD2740 has a 20M:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio, three video inputs (VGA, HDMI with MHL and DisplayPort), and a VESA design with wall mount support.

A pair of integrated 2W speakers and an HD webcam with microphone round up the feature set.

The other display, the 32-inch TD3240, has a 3,000 contrast ratio (static), VGA, DVI and DisplayPort inputs (via DVI to DP adapter), a VESA mountable design, and 10W SRS premium speakers.

ViewSonic tossed in 10-point multitouch when it made the two, for total human-machine interaction, and multi-user operation.

"ViewSonic's 10-point multi-touch displays offer excellent interactivity, along with superior front-of-screen performance, pulling from our 25 years of display heritage and expertise," said Erik Willey, LCD monitor and PC product marketing director at ViewSonic.

"With the addition of our TD2740 and TD3240, ViewSonic has a strong product portfolio in a range of sizes from 22" to 32", in 10-point projected capacitive and 2-point optical touch technology to meet most every consumer or commercial demand."

The ViewSonic TD2740 and TD3240 will start shipping in early August 2013, for $799 / €799 and $2,999 / €2,999. A 23" TD2340 model is also up for order, at $599 / €599.
