ViewSonic just announced the launch of a new 19-inch widescreen computer display, commercially available under the VX1940w designation, that comes with a native resolution of 1680 by 1050 pixels and which will hit the consumer market segment sometime in the middle of November.

According to the news site digitimes, the computer display manufacturing company ViewSonic upgraded the native resolution of its entire range of LCD computer displays in order to make them compatible with the new 1680 by 1050 pixel resolution which was typically available only on higher end monitors, like the 22-inch ones.

The new ViewSonic computer monitor comes with a brightness level of 300cd/m2 and it is capable of delivering very sharp and crisp images thanks to its 1000:1 static contrast ratio or 3000:1 adaptive and dynamic ratio. On the response time side, the ViewSonic VX1940w monitor is capable of a very low response time of 2ms for gray-to-gray images and of a typical response of 5ms for black-white-black transitions.

As the entire viewing surface of this new computer display is covered with an anti-glare coating, users may enjoy life-like images and video streams even in adverse light conditions and thanks to its wide viewing angles of 160 by 170 degrees, users may also enjoy a high mobility around the display.

The new ViewSonic VX1940w computer display supports refresh rates up to 85Hz and it can connect with both PCs and Mac systems. The new system also supports both D-sub and DVI-D connections and thanks to the advanced Amplified Impulse technology this new widescreen 19-inch LCD is able to provide superior motion video and gaming, while the OnView control technology allows users to precisely control and adjust all important screen properties.

The ViewSonic VX1940w computer display is compatible and certified to work with the latest Microsoft Windows Vista operating system and while the arrival date on the market was disclosed the manufacturing company did not post any pricing scheme for this monitor.
