Although they're generally marketed as separate types of devices, PC monitors and HDTV sets are built using pretty much the same basic technology and quite often a device from one "family" is used in order to fulfill the other "family's" functions as well. And in order to make things easier for the users, the people over at ViewSonic have launched the Diamani DUO line of HD PC/TV displays, which provide all the necessary means in order to provide users with a complete and comprehensive solution that bridges the gap between the aforementioned two product families.

Thus, the the 19-inch NX1932w and 22-inch NX2232w feature a fast 5 ms response time, 2400:1 dynamic contrast ratio and wide viewing angles and incorporate six inputs, including HDMI, for connecting to PCs, gaming consoles, camcorders, DVD players, cable or satellite boxes and digital media players. PC applications, like e-mail, spreadsheet comparison and Internet surfing, are complimented with the NX1932w and NX2232w displays' widescreen aspect ratio, VGA inputs and respective native resolutions of 1440x900 and 1680x1050.

The NX1932w and NX2232w boast a sleek high-gloss cabinet that complements a variety of rooms and can be used for a combination of activities-from playing video games or watching shows to writing term papers or watching various sports-related shows. The integrated stand and VESA wall mounting option make the Diamani DUO line a display-piece for kitchens, studios or dorm rooms.

"The ways in which consumers are integrating displays into the home are as varied as the households themselves," said Jeff Volpe, vice president of marketing, ViewSonic Americas. "The Diamani DUO line allows consumers to save money and gain more features by purchasing a single, dual-purpose display that brings high quality video or computer viewing to any room."

The new Diamani DUO NX1932w and NX2232w are available immediately at various ViewSonic retailers for around $349 and $399 respectively, which are some pretty OK prices to pay, taking into consideration the features these things have to offer.
