There have been many announcement depicting some new or upcoming display or another, but it looks like ViewSonic is finally more or less ready to unleash one whose existence was disclosed over six months ago.

The 3D display mode has been on an upward popularity climb ever since cinemas really got seriously in the game.

As such, there are significantly more 3D monitors and HDTVs running around the market than there were at the same time last year (2010).

Then again, there are just as many 3D panels that, though already unveiled, have yet to make their appearance.

With that said, ViewSonic is the one that has stepped up to announce the impending arrival of one V3D245wm-LED, otherwise known as V3D245.

Originally, Viewsonic presented this item at this year's CES (Consumer Electronics Show), back at the start of January.

Only now, however, has the outfit finished its preparation, the act of selling scheduled for sometime around the middle of August or at least before the newly begun month is out.

Until then, users will be able to reacquaint themselves with it and see if the price of $499 is to their tastes (North America is where sales will commence).

It features a refresh rate of 120 Hz and supports NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology, though this means users will need an NVIDIA video solution to unlock its full potential.

Meanwhile, the resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD) is complemented by a dynamic contrast ratio of 20,000,000:1 (static ratio is 1,000:1).

Other specifications include a response time of 2 ms, an HDMI 1.4 port (Dual-link DVI-D and VGA exist as well) and 2W SRS Premium Sound Speakers, all in a frame of 23.6 inches.

Finally, the horizontal and vertical viewing angles are of 170 and 160 degrees, respectively, while the whole thing consumes 33W.
