About a year ago, a Vietnamese guy named Le Nguyen Khang, who also happens to be the owner of a wood processing firm, began work on developing and manufacturing a wooden car.

Only recently, this innovative vehicle has been completed and Khang saw fit to take it out on a spin on the streets of Ho Chi Minh City.

As was to be expected, this weird-looking car, which is also covered in various intricate carvings, caused quite a stir, and there were many who asked if they were allowed to take one or two pictures of it.

Apparently, the vehicle's name is Achilles. Khang explains how, “I named the car after Achilles, one of the greatest warriors in Greek mythology, whose entire body, except for his heel, is invulnerable.”

In other words, the only thing that is not made of wood in this car is its engine.

From an environmental standpoint, the idea seems noteworthy, especially if others began looking into the possibility of using reclaimed pieces of lumber to make cars for everyday use.
