Recently introduced by Canadian carrier Mobilicity as HTC Panache, T-Mobile MyTouch 4G is rumored to be picked by another small carrier, Videotron.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, the MyTouch 4G will soon be launched by Videotron as HTC Glacier.

Given the fact that Mobilicity is focusing its operations in five major cities in Canada (Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver and Ottawa), Quebec customers in search of a decent Android smartphone will be happy that Videotron decided to pick the device.

Apparently, a leaked Gingerbread ROM for the HTC Glacier points to a possible launch via the regional Canadian carrier.

Although the smartphone has yet to be officially announced, the leaked ROM is available for download via 911SnIpEr.

For the non-tech savvy, the HTC Glacier is expected to be delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out-of-the-box, instead of Froyo.

Equipped with a single core 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8255 processor, the phone packs 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Although there's no confirmation, it appears that the phone will run HTC Sense 2.1 UI on top of Google's platform.

HTC Glacier features an large 3.8-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16 million colors support, 480 x 800 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate and Swype input method.

In addition, the smartphone sport a 5-megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash, as well as secondary VGA front facing camera for video chat.

The handset is fully packed with connectivity features such as Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n DLNA, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, GPS with HTC location experience including turn-by-turn directions, as well as Wi-Fi spot capabilities.

There is no information regarding the phone's price tag, but Mobilicity is currently selling the HTC Panache for $499.99 off-contract.

On related news, Videotron is also expected to launch the LG Optimus 2X in the next weeks.
