Another day, another Android device gets launched in India. It looks like Indian handset makers are among the most prolific when it comes to Android smartphones and tablets.

The folks at Videocon have just announced the upcoming availability of their affordable A27 smartphone featuring Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform out of the box and dual-SIM connectivity.

According to AndroidOS, Videocon A27 is expected to hit shelves at major retailers across the country very soon.

The smartphone has already been priced at Rs 5,999 outright, which is about $110 or €85. It will be available in two color schemes, black and white.

Although it’s far from being a top tier Android handset, Videocon A27 is a good alternative for those who treasure price over hardware.

The A27 has been confirmed to come with a more than decent 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display and FM Radio with recording.

On the inside, the smartphone is packed with a 1GHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Videocon A27 sports a 3-megapixel rear camera and a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that the device comes preloaded with useful apps, games and services, including Savn, Fun Zone, Movie Studio, Faceboon and more.

“With the evolvement of the Android space, the consumers are becoming smarter day by day and are demanding a pertinent solution to all their everyday smartphone needs. To address the demand, and bring in an advanced mechanism of efficient smartphone experience, we have launched the Videocon A27 which affording an amalgamation of every type of smartphone needs is all set to become a pertinent answer to all their expectations,” said Khalid Zamir, head product planning & development, Videocon Mobile Phones.
