It's still unofficial, though

When it comes to netbooks, all sorts of reports just keep coming in these days. This time around, the spotlight is on the Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Mini netbook, about which we also talked two weeks ago, as the main star of a recently leaked video. The video, uploaded on the German website Eee PC News, shows one of these Amilo Mini netbooks placed on top of a standard Amilo 3000-series notebook.

This is not an unboxing video, so we can't really say what the upcoming notebook will bundle, but what we can say is that, if compared with the regular Amilo notebook, the Mini is significantly smaller. In fact, the Mini could actually be an 8.9-inch version of a fully-fledged Amilo notebook. The differences between the two will also extend, however, to the computing power, overall usability and even price tag.

Although the netbook hasn't yet been announced by Fujitsu-Siemens, rumors indicate that it will be priced in the $475 - $634 range, which puts it in close proximity to some of ASUS' Eee PCs. Also, according to Netbux, the German site that first displayed images of Fujitsu Siemens' upcoming product, the Amilo Mini is expected to make a public appearance at this year's IFA, which will be held in Berlin between August 29 and September 3.

As it is a yet unannounced product, details about Fujitsu Siemens' upcoming product are in short supply but, from what we can see, it sports a full-sized QWERTY keyboard and is capable of rendering Ice Age. This should make it ideal for users who want yet another alternative to the high number of netbooks that are currently available on the market.

As you might remember, Fujitsu isn't the only systems vendor that is expected to release a direct competitor to ASUS' Eee PC. Toshiba, Nec and Dell are also said to be prepping to show us their versions of netbooks pretty soon.
