The project should be completed 100 years from Gaudi's death

A video recently posted to YouTube shows the amazing sight of the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona, Spain.

It speeds through the stages of the cathedral’s construction, a project which was started by its architect, Antoni Gaudi, in 1882.

The clip uses photos of the worship place and also employs 3D animation, NBC News reports. It offers a simulation of what the cathedral will look like when it will be completed in 2026.

The extraordinarily complex architectural marvel will have taken 144 years to complete. Hopefully, it will be done by the 100-year celebration of Gaudi's 1926 death. Its creator prided himself in being “God’s architect.”

"My client is in no hurry," he once said, when asked about when the Sagrada Familia would be done.
