“Like glass” can no longer be used to suggest something is brittle

There was a time when comparing something to glass meant that the thing/being in question was very fragile.

With Gorilla Glass, and Gorilla Glass 2, Corning has already shown just how far from brittle glass can be.

Now, the company has released a pair of videos in which it shows how many uses it envisions for glass and how there will come a time when the whole world is made of glass entirely, so to speak.

The above video is 'just' a short presentation, but the one below will take you for a trip into the potential future.

3D projection-ready glass is just one of many possible uses. Corning expects glass to be used in automotive design, wall-sized displays (basically, walls that are displays), etc.

The company pays special mind to Electrochromic glass, which windows will be made of. This glass will not just isolate houses, but also provide shade and become transparent on command. Durability comes without saying too.

We'll not bombard you with words, since they won't be able to even come close to conveying what the videos do. Watch and be amazed by what may and, hopefully, will be.
