Many think of Victoria Beckham and they immediately think of a cold woman who would sacrifice everything for her fashion and, most importantly, to keep herself in the spotlight. This is, however, a misconception about her, Posh herself reveals for the latest issue of Glamour magazine, saying she’s a normal mother who goes and serves lunches to her children, a fashionista to the core indeed, but a regular woman at the end of the day.

Speaking of fashion, Victoria, a self-styled icon turned successful designer, reveals she has to suffer to look this good, but she pays the price with a smile on her face because she knows there can’t be no gain without some pain. Case in point: her love of high heels, and the painful bunions she has because of them, coupled with increasing back and knee pain. Still, she insists she lives for fashion and, while she doesn’t dress like out of a magazine everyday, when she’s out on business, she likes to dress up.

“I love fashion, and that’s how I express myself. I think about [what I’m going to wear] before I go to bed at night, When I dress in a certain way and do my hair and makeup in a certain way, it’s not to get attention. I’m not a supermodel. I make the best of what I’ve got. I work out to look the best that I can, but I’m no Gisele,” Victoria explains for the magazine.

Clearly, she’s no Gisele but what she is is a regular mother, one that likes to do things other moms also do, like going to their children’s school and helping with lunch. “I travel a fair amount, and when I’m here in L.A., everything revolves around the kids. So if I’m not working, I go to the school and help serve lunches to the children. They just love that. It’s like, Oh, there’s Mummy serving me! The other day I was there, I was reading to Cruz’s class. All the little girls were saying, ‘We really like your dress.’ 'And it was quite cute because I don’t have a girl,” the star explains.

In the same interview, Mrs. Beckham tackles the topic of her weight and ongoing speculation that she’s starving herself to stay this thin. This is completely false, Victoria explains, as she’s a very healthy eater and works out a lot to stay in shape. In fact, no matter what the stories tabloids come out with every week, this is actually the one that hurts her the most, because she understands women all over the world look up to her as to a role model and she respects that and would, consequently, never starve herself.
