Victoria Beckham often said she was a regular woman who just happed to be married to one of the highest paid football stars in the world. Back then, this was partially true, but one thing that has changed about her since moving to the US is her starting to become a diva. This would explain why she’s no longer making claims she’s just like any other woman, the Daily Mail says.

Mrs. Beckham got the Posh nickname in her Spice Girls days for a very good reason: she always liked to live big. However, while she and David lived in the UK, she insisted on not being that much different from a regular mother and wife, in the sense that she strove to keep things real, by doing most of the chores herself. She’s changed a lot since moving to the US, as she’s starting to hire more and more staff to do basic things for her, from carrying her grocery basket and her purse, to taking her shoes off when she gets home at the end of the day and cutting up her dinner.

Of course, with the kind of money she makes and the busy schedule she keeps, it’s understandable to delegate some of the responsibility, says the Mail. Still, from that to hiring a person specifically for the purpose of dusting your shoe collection and ordering your wardrobe, or one that must only take your shoes off is a big stretch. Because of all the help she gets throughout the day, the only thing that Victoria still does by herself is to choose the clothes she plans to wear the next day and occasionally carry her own purse.

“Victoria, who recently turned 36, has ten full-time members of staff, including a housekeeper, butler, two chefs (one for the boys and another for Victoria and David when they entertain), several nannies and cleaners, a chauffeur and a personal assistant. Then there are all the other staff with less full-time duties. There are those for the house, including an army of gardeners, a florist (Victoria hates to see anything resembling a dead flower), someone to sort out her wardrobe and dust her collection of shoes, as well as a large rota of security guards. […] Thirdly, and most crucially, there are the fleet of those devoted to making Victoria Beckham look good; a personal trainer to maintain her teeny-tiny figure, a nutritionist to make sure she doesn’t overdo the dieting, a dressmaker to take in her size zero designer clothes, a hairdresser, pilates instructor, fake tanner, beautician, make-up artist, Alexander technique practitioner, to help with her movement and balance, podiatrist, reflexologist – and, of course, someone to man the phone to fit in all the appointments,” the Mail writes.

Even with this impressive staff (believed to cost the Beckhams £500,000 a year), Victoria would still pale in comparison to Hollywood divas if it weren’t for her determination to simply stop doing things on her own and to pay others to do them for her, the Mail further says. As such, she refuses to carry small change in her purse to feed the meter because it’s heavy and dirty. She also claims to be so busy she can hardly find the time for anything else than work (on her fashion lines), which gives her the perfect excuse to hire more staff.

“She’s obsessed with her fashion line and she really does work hard for it, so good luck to her. But its success really has brought out the diva in her and she has changed. She seems like a much harder person, and she is certainly a lot more demanding. She walks around as though she is exhausted, that life is so tough, and I was astounded when I saw that she even has someone take her shoes off for her. She would have laughed at that sort of thing before,” an unnamed friend says of Victoria’s diva ways.
