Viacom is probably one of the most popular companies nowadays, although it wasn't too promoted in the last year. Although it owns several worldwide TV channels such as MTV, VH1 or Comedy Central, the media conglomerate wasn't too familiar with the online area. However, the last months were quite amazing for Viacom because they boosted the number of their visitors and attracted the mass media's eyes to the company. If you didn't know, although that is quite impossible, Viacom sued Google for copyright infringement after numerous clips owned by the company were published on YouTube.

Today, the battle continues with Viacom's revenge that decided to sign a deal with Yahoo, the most powerful rival for the search giant Google. According to CNN, the agreement will bring 33 of the Viacom's Internet sites on the Yahoo SERP through the search-advertising program owned by the portal. This way, the number of Viacom's visitors will be boosted after numerous ads will be displayed straight on the search engine results page provided by Yahoo. Although the financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed, it seems like Viacom aims to bring 140 more sites to the deal and place adverts on Yahoo.

In the past, Viacom tries another move meant to represent their revenge against the search giant Google. Just after the removal of 100.000 clips was demanded, Viacom signed a deal with Joost, a video sharing application owned by the founders of Skype, to help them distribute their multimedia content. However, Google proved them that YouTube is able to attract visitors even without Viacom's content and released a statement sustaining the number of users was boosted just after the Viacom removal was officially confirmed.
