Wind turbines manufactured by engineering and electronics company Siemens might be highly sought after in the United States, but those produced by Danish manufacturer, seller, installer, and servicer Vestas Wind Systems A/S are by no means a wallflower either.

On the contrary, Clean Technica tells us that the Danish company has recently received an order for 150 MW of wind turbines from independent North American wind energy company First Wind.

The 74 wind turbines that Vestas is expected to deliver as part of this collaboration are to be installed at various sites across the country, information shared with the public says.

Once these green energy projects are completed, their combined power output will be more than enough to meet the demands of 50,000 households in the United States.

First Wind has purchased wind turbines manufactured by the Dutch company in the past, and says that it is quite pleased with their on-site performance.

“We've been pleased with the performance of the Vestas equipment we’ve had operating since 2012. Vestas has been a good partner and we’re looking forward to installing their latest technology at sites across the country,” Paul Gaynor, i.e. First Wind's CEO, said in a statement.

The same source tells us that the Danish wind turbines manufacturer has recently received one other order for 110 MW worth of turbines that are to be used to erect one more wind farm on United States territory. However, the customer's and the project's name have not yet been shared with the public.

Since the beginning of this year until present day, Vestas has received over 1,700 MW of wind turbine orders from customers in the United States and Canada alone. Otherwise put, the company has had a fairly good year.

As Vestas writes on its website, “This year, Vestas has secured over 1,700 MW of firm turbine orders in the United States and Canada. This is the second-best yearly sales performance for the region since Vestas entered this market in 1981.”

“Vestas’ sales record for the United States and Canada is 1,883 megawatts in 2010,” the company details.
