The device will also provide you with nutritional information

Smart glasses, smartwatches, small rings, smart night lights, we keep hearing about them all the time. But the smart appellative seems to be spreading at an increasingly fast pace.

Smartbands might be capable of telling you how many calories you have burnt during a day, but you won’t be able to feed from them (obviously).

But MarkOne believes there’s a niche to be had here, so the company has just unveiled a gadget called Vessyl, which could be described using two words – smart cup.

Vessyl is so intelligent that it will be able to tell you what exactly you’re pouring into the cup, what’s the nutritional value of the concoction and how much sugar, fat and caffeine it has.

The data is then displayed on the side of the cup itself or through the official Vessyl iOS app. For the time being, the smart cup is not compatible with Android devices.

The cup should be quite easy to use as it features a non-stick interior and a spill-proof lid, which means cleaning it won't bring about a lot of fuss.

Charging the cup for only 60 minutes will ensure you get to use it between 5 and 7 days without having to go back for a recharge.

If you think the Vessyl might be something cool to have around the house, you should know that for a limited time the device is up for pre-order for $99 / €73. Expect it to ship out in spring 2015.
